If you love cliché young adult romance movies, then this is the movie for you. It is almost like a Nicholas Sparks’ story with its amazing storyline and eye-candy of a boy, Peter Kavinsky, played by Noah Centineo. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before will give you second-hand embarrassment that will have you cringing whenever you think about it. Girls everywhere will have high standards for their boyfriends but will also wish to be in Lara Jean’s (Lana Condor) place. I mean come on, who wouldn’t want to have a fake boyfriend to make someone jealous and in due time become a real boyfriend… Nobody, just me, okay. This movie also gives you a stronger sister bond as Lara Jean and her sister’s relationship is tested throughout the movie. Though at the end of the day, they show how family always comes first.

The movie starts off by Lara Jean and her younger sibling, Kitty (Anna Cathcart), sending their older sister, Margot (Janell Parrish), to college in another country, LJ having a crush on her sister’s boyfriend, and Kitty sending LJ’s letters off to their corresponding addresses… That’s just a sneak peek, but you can go watch it on Netflix.

Since I’m sadly one of the people who is a sucker for cliché movies, I give this a 9.5/10. Being me, I also had to read the book and thought that it was such a book-turned-movie cliché to forget about the important book scenes. It also didn’t help that it felt like a Kissing Booth 2.0, no shade to both movies. But I mean come on, Netflix could have waited until the hype of The Kissing Booth calmed down. Anyway, TATBILB is a movie that I would recommend to anyone who is bored and has nothing else to do besides watch TV. So, if you’re a lucky soul who has NO homework and NO chores, then go watch this teen romance, and go to sleep dreaming about how your life could be like LJ’s without all the drama that comes along with it, and with a Peter Kavinsky.
