Welcome Back!  We here at The Uproar hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving holiday and got your fill of comfort foods.  This Weekend Eats edition is going to be called Quick & Savory Shrimp Scampi and Crab Tempura.  Don’t forget to comment how you liked it!  Until next week…

Shrimp Scampi over Alfredo 

 Ingredients  

  • ½ lbs of shrimp 
  • tsp of Old Bay seasoning  
  • tsp of Salt 
  • tsp of pepper  
  • 2 Cloves of Garlic  
  • 2 tsp of Onion Powder 
  • tsp of Cayenne Pepper 
  • Box of Fettuccine noodles  
  • 6 tbsp of butter  
  • Two jars of store bought  Alfredo sauce 

 Directions 

  1. In a large pot  add ½ pound of frozen shrimp and warm water to allow shrimp to thaw. 
  2. In a separate pot add your fettuccine noodles to boiling water with olive oil (to prevent sticking) 
  3. After about  15mins rinse, de-shell and vein the shrimp. 
  4. Add shrimp back to the pot and add  your dry ingredients and hand mix until all shrimps are thoroughly coated .  
  5. Allow shrimp to sit for 5-10 mins 
  6. While waiting remove noodles from heat  and  drain  
  7. Add noodles back to the pot and add alfredo sauce (Store bought or Homemade) and add 2 tbsp of butter. 
  8. Add  pot  to low heat  until shrimp turns pale orange. 
  9. Add your remaining 4 tbsp of butter and 2 cloves of garlic (chopped) to the pot. 
  10. Stir the pot occasionally until the butter has melted. 
  11. After 15 mins the shrimp should be done 
  12. Add shrimp to pasta and salt to taste 

 Crab Tempura 

 Ingredients  

  • 12 imitation crab sticks 
  • 5 tbsp of salted Butter  
  • 3 cloves of garlic 
  • 5 Cups of flour 
  • 1 ½ Cups of Soda water 
  • 2 tsp of Old Bay seasoning  
  • 2 tsp of Salt 
  • 1 tsp of pepper 
  • 2 tsp of Onion Powder 
  • tsp of Cayenne Pepper 

Directions  

  1. In a large mixing bowl combine all dry ingredients (only 3 cups of flour).
  2. Add soda water and mix until it becomes a consistency of pancake batter (add more or less). 
  3. In a separate bowl, have the extra 2 cups of flour . 
  4. Preheat oil  to 350 F . 
  5. Dip each carb stick into batter and then the flour and deep fry until golden brown. 
  6. Remove and dry each tempura stick. 
  7. In a heat proof bowl microwave the 3 cloves of garlic and 5 tbsp of butter until butter is melted  
  8. Enjoy!
