Lady Raptors Bowling Strikes Gold!
Our very own Lady Raptors Bowling Team has officially been crowned Conference Champs! This year’s highly anticipated IHSA Southland Conference Championship took place at Stardust Bowl in Dyer, on Thursday, January 27th.
The Lady Raptors started this season with one goal in mind- bringing home a team Conference Championship. So, it is no surprise that after much hard work and dedication during the regular season, the ladies came into this match confident and ready to bowl.
Along with the 1st place team trophy, four ladies placed in the individual competition. Freshman Danzani Holmes, sophomore Tajah Matthews, and seniors Trinity Cook and Katelyn Eison all placed in the Top 10 with their match scores.
After a dominating 7-1 conference record this season, which included big wins against Kankakee. Thornridge, Bloom and Crete-Monee, the goal of winning the first ever conference championship became a reality. Next up, the Lady Raptors will compete in the Cardinal Invite next Tuesday, followed by the IHSA Regional Championship next Saturday, February 5th, at Orland Bowl. Congratulations to Coach Wolf and the whole team on this great achievement for Raptor Athletics.
