Mighty Marching Machine Takes Mardi Gras
The Rich Township Mighty Marching Machine took to pre Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans last weekend.
For the second time, they were invited to take part in the Krewe of Cleopatra parade, which honors the icon of history. This parade continues to be combine their passion for Mardi Gras and their love for the city of New Orleans every year, and it couldn’t be done without the Rich Township Mighty Marching Machine.
The parade took place on Friday, February 18th, at 6PM in Uptown New Orleans and followed the traditional Uptown Parade Mardi Gras Parade route of almost 3.5 miles. In addition to our Mighty Marching Machine, the parade included more than 20 floats. Senior Khayri Skinner said, “It was again, a great experience for all of us to take part in the Mardi Gras celebration, and also a fun bonding experience.”
During the trip down to Louisiana, the group was also able to enjoy sightseeing around the city and perform for colleges. More than 50 members of the band attended.
