Forget My Life
Alarm Clock Mishap

The Night Before…
I just got home from practice and it is 6:30 p.m., so I decide to shower and eat dinner. At 7:30 p.m., I get ready to start my homework. Of course my teachers are not going to be nice and give me homework which will last ten minutes, instead I get a pile of homework that is going to take hours to do.
Later that night…
It’s 11:55 p.m and I am still not done with my six foot stack of homework, but I need some sleep. So, I set the alarm on my phone to get me up at 6:30 a.m. so I can finish my last really boring homework assignment.
The Next Morning…
I wake up groggy and delirious struggling to see through my sleep-hazed eyes. I look at my phone and recall that I did not hear my alarm go off, so I figured I must’ve beat it to the punch.
As I start to wake up more I can see the clock on my phone clearly now because the fog has gone. I see that it is 7:30 a.m., and I immediately freak out. I start to panic, question how this happened, get mad, shout at the alarm clock for not doing its one and only job, and then I go into planning mode.
I go through a list of things in my head of what I have to do: homework, eat breakfast, get dressed, get my things for practice, brush my teeth, and pack my bag for school.
It is now 7:33 a.m. and that leaves me twelve minutes to get all this done and get to the bus. I move at the speed of light to get all this done and pray I don’t forget anything.
On the bus…
I am trying to catch my breath because I had to bring out my inner track star to catch the bus. I am cursing out my phone in my head because the alarm did not go off. Shaking my head, technology these days is just not on my side.
At school…
I get to school at 8:15, so I don’t have time to eat breakfast, which of course makes me irritated. So, I trudge my way upstairs to my locker and put my stuff up. The minute bell rings, which makes me mad because that bell rings faithfully eleven times a day and my phone can’t even go off once a day!
Here I am in first period sitting down mad at my phone because of what it did. I’m talking to my friend about my horrible morning when the teacher asks for my homework. I’m instantly happy because I know I did that homework packet last night.
Unfortunately, I could not find it in my folder and I realize that I left that packet along with two of my other homework assignments on the floor in my room. I mentally bang my head on the wall and plead my case to my teacher like my life depends on it.
Of course the teacher doesn’t just flat out say no, instead he gives me the lecture about if he gives me a pass on the homework, then everyone is going to ask for one, and blah, blah, blah… So, I sit back down in my seat, look depressed, and wish for the day to be over.
All of this happened simply because the alarm on my phone decided to take a day off and leave me hanging.
Later that day…
I’m on the bus on my way home from practice and all of sudden I here my phone alarm going off. Of course I turn off my alarm and realize it was set for 6:30 p.m instead of 6:30 a.m! I was apologizing to my phone and left looking salty because it was all my fault.
