In celebration of Black History Month, the Rich Township African American Culture Club put on their annual Black History Month Talent Show at FAC on Friday, February 23rd. Students from both campuses cam together to pay tribute to the essence of African American dance, poetry, music and fashion.
The “Sold Out” performance brought students from both STEM and FAC together and all were able to enjoy entertainment in the form of spoken word, rap, dance, fashion modeling, and included a performance by the Jazz Band and Rich Township Drumline as well. Student and singer Quori Morgan performed “Strange Fruit” by Billie Holiday.
Senior, Jermya Henard, who performed during the Talent Show as part of the Drumline, stated, “I loved being a part of this talent show. It was a special performance to culminate the end of Black History Month.”
The week of the event, the African American Culture Club also hosted a Black History Spirit Week which included African American Leader/Pioneer Day, HBCU Apparel Day, Shades of Melanin Day, and African Garb Day.
