Young Activism

Young Activism

In the year of 2015 we saw young people evolve. And although there is still trouble, many young people, between the ages of 16 to 26, have expressed how they felt about situations in their community peacefully. These expressions have spread through network news, social media, and simple word of mouth.

From college students protesting against racism at the University of Missouri, to Young Activist protesting the unfortunate death of LaQuan McDonald in the city of Chicago, young people have felt powerful in expressing their feelings in droves.  As a young adult myself, I believe that these powerful movements are an astounding example for generations to come. Over the past couple of years, I have heard people of the older generation say, “These children of the 1990s and 2000s just don’t care about anything.” Well, I believe these young people have have proved them wrong. As we move further into 2016, young activism can only become more influential.

“I believe it’s about time that young people stand up for themselves and others around them.”
