Meet Mr. Tucker

Meet Mr. Tucker

This school year, Rich Central has welcomed numerous new teachers to the building.  Some of our new to us staff members are actually teachers who have come from other schools in our district, specifically Mr. Bret Tucker.  Mr. Tucker is a new teacher to the Rich Central P.E. Department.

Mr. Tucker considers himself to be laid back person, being easy to get along with.   His students feel he has a cheerful and outgoing spirit and is a welcome new addition to the P.E. Department.  In late September, Mr. Tucker sat down with me to discuss his recent transition to the Olympian family in a get to know you interview.

What is something great you have noticed about Central campus?

Mr. Tucker:  The students here at Central are quite nice and very accepting.  Students like seeing new faces and new ways of doing things in class.  I’ve also had a chance to be acquainted with many administrators and have found that they are very kind and hardworking people.

If you had the chance, would you go back to Rich South?

Mr. Tucker:  No! I love the new atmosphere here at Rich Central, and change is good!

What are some things you would like the staff and student body to know about you?

Mr. Tucker:  I am 50 years old, and have two daughters 18 and 20 of my own. I grew up in the area and lived in and attended Oak Forest (High School).  I attended Iowa Western Community College and also Chicago State University where I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in teaching and physical education.  I have been teaching for 22 years in the area and spent time at both Crete-Monee and Bloom before coming to District 227 at Rich South and now Rich Central.

How would your students describe you?

Mr. Tucker:  My students would I am a very well rounded and energetic person who is passionate about teaching and being involved at Rich Central.  I love communicating with young people, and getting to know my students.

Make sure to welcome Mr. Tucker to our building when you see him around!
