More Time, Please!

Undoubtedly, the busiest parts of every students day are the group of five minutes in between their class schedules. With the ticking time, crowded halls, and loud bells, the passing periods are lively burst of life in an otherwise quiet school. In these five minutes, students are expected to make it to class, no matter it’s previous location, have all items from their lockers, and take care of their…ahem…personal issues.

This doesn’t always work out, and it’s not the individual’s fault.

The school as a whole makes it difficult to run back and forth between two floors. The student body is so vast, among shifting items in and out of our lockers and addressing our personal issues, five minutes simply isn’t enough time to handle all of our business. I propose adding two extra minutes to the passing period to ensure that everything that needs to get done, will get done.

But for right now, this will remain a distant dream. One of the problems that plague our student body is the love of loitering. This love blocks out the needs of others to make it through the halls. When we get our act together, then we can get the extra time we need.
