The Importance of Mental Health

“Mental health is something that we all need to talk about, and we need to take the stigma away from it. So let’s raise the awareness. Let’s let everybody know it’s OK to have a mental illness (and addiction) problem.” — Demi Lovato

Mental health is something that many people struggle with worldwide. But in teenagers, mental health issues are more common than most think. Mental health can affect people very differently and it can be very extreme. Sadly though not many people notice this, even when people who are struggling with the mental illnesses (diagnosed and undiagnosed) try and reach out to others for help.

Remember: Mental health can affect physical health!

A personal experience, from myself, I had to go to the hospital, March 13, 2020 the last normal day we had, I was sent home from school for having bad chest pains. It was already getting a bit dangerous with Covid-19 making people paranoid. I wasn’t in the best mental health state, honestly I’m normally not in a good mental health state, but it started appearing in my physical health as well. I had chest pains, trouble sleeping, trouble breathing and my heart rate was high. This is why people, teachers, students, anyone should be aware of what mental health can do to some people.
