On Saturday, November 11th, Rich Township honored the brave men and women who have served in the military. The Richton Park annual Veterans Day Parade took place beginning at the Richton Park Metra Station and headed west down Sauk Trail and ended with a gathering at the FAC Campus. Once all had gathered in the gym, there was a Veteran recognition ceremony, where many guests were honored, and all community members who have served in the military were celebrated. The event had music, speeches, and performances by the Rich Township Marching Band, along with other performances by Southland Charter School, and the South Shore Drill Team. The Pro Start students even provided refreshments to those who came out for the event. Overall, it was a beautiful celebration of those who have given up their time and dedicated themselves to the armed services.
